My classroom is by no means perfect, but this year especially, I've tried extra hard to make C8 a comfortable spot.
It seems like elementary classroom teachers get all the fun (and probably stress) of creating a cozy, colorful environment for their students. By 8th grade, lots of classrooms end up looking like learning factories with rows of students aimed at the whiteboard or projector screen.
This year, I've tried to put a few cozy touches in my room to help make it feel less industrial and more comfortable. So far, my students seem to appreciate these efforts, and I've found that making these changes has helped me think about how students feel as they walk through the halls at SMS. It's also given me some extra time to reflect on lessons and plan for upcoming activities, so win/win!
