Someone just sent me this via buzzfeed: The 16 Books To Read Before They Hit Theaters This Year
I have to say, I'm very impressed with this list. Several of the books are for more mature audiences (I loved Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl!), but I was excited to see so many of them are great YA ones!
Here are my thoughts on a few of the titles:
How have I never heard of this book yet? The subtitle fascinates me and I can't wait to get a hold of this one. Plus the movie starts George Clooney, Matt Damon, John Goodman (my favorite!), and Bill Murray.
Here's another book on my "Must Read" list! I keep loaning my copy out to students and haven't stolen it away to read for myself.
This is one of the best books I read in 2013. Green is a masterful writer who constructs his characters like a sculptor with a chisel. I devoured this book!
Disclaimer: Because of some themes, content, and incredible, edgy writing, this book may not appropriate for all 8th grade readers. I have it on my "Parental Permission" bookshelf.
While this isn't my favorite book for Young Adults, mostly because I usually don't go for futuristic genres, I appreciate the importance of this book in YA literature. I have to see this movie! And PS - Taylor Swift is in it. How do you feel about that?
Another one on my "Must Read" list. I can't keep it on my shelf long enough! Students love this book.
