2. Narrowing your focus (Discussion) - Instead of writing about ALL of the 1950s, just write about the moment your interiewee first saw color television. Instead of writing about the ENTIRE Korean war, write about the day (or even the hour) your interviewee was deployed to serve as a military nurse. Narrowing your focus will produce a stronger story. 3. Read in your Book Group book 4. Quick meeting with your Book Group 1. Enjoy your book. 2. Harlem Renaissance article 3. Assignment - plan a slide show (using HaikuDeck or Keynote) based on the Harlem Renaissance A-Z site from Junior Scholastic. Slide requirements: Title Slide - ONE image and your heading (ex. Cotton Club, Apollo Theater, Langston Hughes) Images - At least THREE images with credit given to image sources Choose ONE: Facts Slide - THREE important facts to know about your topic (either from Scholastic.com or from outside research). Credit must be given for each source. Visual Slide - video clip, musical piece, or news footage. Be sure to preview all visuals to be sure they are appropriate for school. Example: Apollo Theater Notice how the example gives credit to fact and image sources. |
