During the month of March, you will be participating in book groups. The best part of book groups is that you get to choose which novel to read based on their interests and reading level.
While I have multiple copies of many of these books, it's recommended that you have your own copy of the text because we will be annotating within the book. You will preview the books today and begin choosing which book you'd like to read. I will take your preferences and place you in groups by Thursday, and we will begin reading on Monday, March 3. Here are book trailers for each of the books: I-Search Ppa

I-SEARCH ~ PRESENTATION
TASK: Deliver a 3-8 minute oral presentation on your research topic. AUDIENCE: Your peers, your teacher PURPOSE: To share what you have learned through your research. PROCEDURE: 1 Review the Criteria for Assessment. 2. Rehearse your presentation several times using prepared note cards. 3. Create a relevant visual (haiku deck app, imovie, keynote, poster, model) that will help enlighten your audience. HELPFUL HINTS: 1 If you use a Keynote, do not simply use text and read it aloud. Instead, use Keynote as a great way to share images, music, video, etc. 2. Your visual should be visible to everyone in the room or be passed around. 3. Don’t just share your research - you should also share why you chose your topic and how you went about researching it. We finally made it! It's time to take all of your notes and your outline and write your rough draft.
Take a look at some of the I-Search examples to see what your paper might look like. Be sure to watch these video tutorials to see how to write your paper, including: 1. How to incorporate your notes into your I-Search paper 2. How to use in-text citations to credit your sources You've got your notes, and now you are ready for the second half of the I-Search process!
